Where have I been
It's been a while...
First things first, I am alive and well, and no the blog is not going anywhere.
I have been in Spain for around a month and a half now, and it has been a bit more turbulent than I expected.
Mind you I am not saying that it has been bad or rough because it thankfully has not, but doing every single legal paper for living here like a proper Spaniard, despite me being a citizen, has been a bit of a pain in the ass, couple this with the dreaded last quarter on a company that sells industrial equipment, as well as some fun family celebrations… and let’s face it I did not have much time to sit down and write for the blog.
I am not saying “have pitty on me”, but I just want to lay out what has happened since late October and my last post.

Now things here, at least for December will remain a bit quiet, because its the holidays, but I’ll try to do at least one or two posts, as I owe one to a friend of mine, James aka the Timist, and the other, because I simply miss and love writing about watches.
Regarding the latter point; I’ve found that writing these posts has become VERY therapeutic without me realizing it, because here I can simply talk a metric ton about watches without worrying about an algorithm or if its going to piss off some brand or influencer or if it even has somthing to do with politics, which to tell you the truth, I’m saturated, at least for what remains for the year.
So do not worry the blog will not go anywhere, but instead of having a new post every Sunday of the month, I will tone it down to 3 Sundays per month, and I’ll schedule two rests per year, one for summer and one for the holidays, both with a post saying that the aforementioned rest will come.
Both these changes were taken to placate any burnout and fatigue that may arise, and prevent me from distancing myself from watches thanks to an overdose of them and making my hobby essentially a second, yet unpaid, job.
Additionally, from the aforementioned articles, I’ll of course do a scheduled Christmas or New Year post thanking you all for this amazing year of growth this blog has seen, never thought I would get that many followers.
In other news, the blog MIGHT spawn a Spanish spin off podcast, but I’l ltalk about it when its more of a reality, and it will be Spanish only so if you only speak English, activate the subtitles.
Lastly and regarding watch news and acquisitions.
In terms of acquisitions… we have no new acquisitions, yet. But I’m laying my eye on an affordable grail of mine that has deep significance to me, and has been mentioned in previous articles, as well as an out of left field affordable quirky integrated bracelet dress watch, all of this for less than 500 EUR, if things pan out.
In watch news, I have been able to wear my grandfathers watch a TON here, as its a safe place to wear it, it has certainly not become a daily because I want to keep it special, but love wearing it from time to time, and incidentally wore it on a special day without realizing it, but that’s a story for another article.
Regarding try-outs, it has been paradise here, as I’ve been able to try the new releases from Longines, Seiko, Oris, Cartier, Tag Heuer, Rolex, Omega, as well as some cool vintage examples from the latter three. Additionally I have also been able to try some new brands (to me) like Cuervo Y Sobrinos, Grand Seiko and Panerai!

Jewelry staff here has been amazing, but I don’t want to push my luck regarding try-out only visits, as they may rub them the wrong way, therefore I will stop for a while.
So yeah it has been quite the eventful month and a half in here, again sorry for the lack of posting, I hope you understand, my Christmas vacations will be spent on a cottage in Tenerife, so the posts will be scheduled, therefore please excuse any lack of interactions here.
Before I leave, thank you for your patience and for the growth the page has seen this year, it has been truly amazing and I am honoured and humbled that you decided to choose me as your watch source.
THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!
PS: No SOTC this year, it is literally the same as last year, except for a new G-Shock (review pending)
As always…

What are your thoughts on the new Longines Ultra-Chron? That one really caught my eye when they released it a couple months back…
Good to have you back Cove!
